DINNER AT THE VATICAN

As we arrived, tired and tattered,
From a day long and fraught.
We met a great Lady,
And into her love we were brought.

Marie Noel, was our gracious,
And motherly host,
But of her own blessed virtue,
She did not have boast.

So she welcomed us in,
Without much ado,
Made us feel right at home,
And cooked for us too.

The meal was sublime,
A welcome repast.
It filled us up to the brim,
That our energies, would last.

And in so splendid a setting,
We slept 'til the dawn.
And felt all refreshed,
By this blessing, reborn.

For
Marie Noel
