Where no words ever spoken,
Sounds of silence were broken,
By the breeze in the air,
And the trees living there.
Nothing stirred here still,
As if by a will,
That silence was the way,
Of the beautiful day.
A chorus of flowers,
Helped me pass away hours,
And golden fields of corn,
Did the hillsides adorn.
Here the heat of the sun,
Ripened crops to be done,
And the silence was still,
Never moving a mill.
Then the evening arrived,
And the landscape survived,
With the sunlight regressing,
Came still silence a blessing.
